DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION

HOW TO BE A GOOD GARDENER TO YOUR FLOWER

Book Cover Illustration

This is a self-project of a book cover illustration. I intend this book to be for someone who wants to learn how to take care of their naturally curly hair or for family members or friends who are taking care of someone else natural hair. I showcase a person with curly hair as a flower.  The water pot represents someone or themselves putting in the work and love into their naturally curly hair.

KYLA'S EYES

Digital Painting

This project was to demonstrate my Photoshop skills to create a painted portrait of my eyes. When making these eyes I had multiple layers: two layers for each eyebrow, two layers for each eyeball, two layers for the top and bottom of my eyelid, two layers for my nose bridge, and many more. This project took me the most time and I really had to be patient making it.

DURHAM FAMILY

Crest

I made this crest that represents me and my family. I put the cross because my family is Christian and fatefully believes in God. I felt as though the cross represents our religion the best. The symbol in red is the Gye Nyame symbol, which means the supremacy of God. This symbol is just a reminder that God is involved in every aspect of human life. Which is also another representation of our religion and how close we are to God.

Cry Flowers

Character

I drew this character years ago. I was going through a lot mentally a the time. Was making a lot of mistakes. I was insecure about myself. However, I knew I could get past it and learn to love myself again. When I saw that drawing again this year I decided to make it even more beautiful by making it into a digital character. This is the first character that I made digitally and I am so proud of myself for it.

Black Live Matter

Gift Exchange

I made this design for a gift exchange in my class. All my designs have been dealing with black culture and just overall resonate with me. So I wanted to give my classmates something that is important to me and to remember me in the future.
